About Us

Big Horn Mountain Farms has an exclusive partnership with the Steerhead Ranch. The Steerhead Ranch is our sole source provider of beef and pork. The Steerhead Ranch was established in 1984, and is located outside of Buffalo, Wyoming in the shadows of the Bighorn Mountain Range. That is where we got the inspiration for the name, Big Horn Mountain Farms. The Bighorn Mountain range is located in southern Montana and northern Wyoming, and is considered a northwestern spur of the Rocky Mountains. Where the Rocky Mountains meet the Great Plains. 

Our animals are born and raised on the Steerhead Ranch, and are free to roam thousands of acres of pasture. We have the utmost respect and compassion for our animals. Yes, we are raising them to be enjoyed as a meal, but we believe that the best tasting meat comes from the happiest animals. We started raising animals because we wanted to know where our food came from, and to have the connection to our food. Now that our herd is large enough, we want to share our animals with you! 

All of our animals are pasture raised (even our pigs!) antibiotic and hormone free.

• Berkshire/Mangalitsa cross
• Mangalitsa/Old Spot cross
